On April 25, the Ndola High Court put the FAZ AGM on ice until disputes relating to the alteration of the FAZ constitution were resolved.

But yesterday, FIFA directed that FAZ holds the AGM or risk sanctions.

However after an injunction hearing in the Lusaka High Court this morning, FAZ general Secretary Reuben Kamanga revealed that judge Greenwell Malumani who was hearing the application for an injunction this morning ruled that the injunction issued by the Ndola High Court suspending the AGM should be maintained.

Kamanga indicated that a new date for inter-parte hearing, were both parties will argue whether the injunction should be sustained or discharged has been set for Thursday next week.

Meanwhile delegates who had arrived at Government Complex, the venue of the AGM dispersed soon after scores of police officers sealed of the premises.

Football administrator Damiano Mutale and journalist Mabvuto Phiri who are represented by lawyer Lewis Mosho have obtained a Court order suspending the non-elective general conference.

In this case Mutale who is the vice secretary general of Damiano Academy Football Club and Phiri have sued FAZ president Andrew Kamanga and the association’s general secretary Reuben Kamanga for the alleged modifications made to the FAZ constitution without following procedure.

The plaintiffs argue that the unilateral amendments of the FAZ constitution by the Association without considering submissions from stakeholders and members and allowing them to participate in the amendment process is illegal.
