FORMER Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops (ZCCB) education secretary brother Charles Kabeta has gone to be with the Lord after a short illness, ZCCB has confirmed.
Br Dr Kabeta has been described by many Catholic faithfuls as a devoted servant of God who was willing to render help to people.
He died yesterday at Kasama Central Hospital where he was receiving treatment.
Br Dr Kabeta belonged to the Brothers of the Sacred Heart, Malole community of the Archdiocese of Kasama.
The late also served as the acting Headteacher for St Francis Secondary School in Malole of Mungwi District in Northern Province as he was standing in for then headteacher now late, brother John Mayuka who died last year.
His standing in for the late Mayuka was as a result of his sickness and had gone to seek specialist medical treatment in Lusaka, according to Radio Lutanda, Kasama Archdiocese Vicar General Fr Rodger Fikwamo confirmed.
“Br Dr Kabeta departed this life around 13:00 on Sunday, 19th January 2025 in Kasama General Hospital after a brief illness.”
“He was the immediate past National Education Secretary for the Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops (ZCCB), said Fr Fikwamo.
