Ambassador Kanyama, along with Zambia Kuchalo Limited, sponsored 40 tickets for fellow Zambians in Washington DC to cheer on Banda as her team, Orlando Pride, took on Washington Spirits.

Banda’s impact on the field was undeniable, playing a pivotal role in all three goals scored by Orlando Pride.

She notched an assist, a goal of her own, and drew a penalty.

Despite playing a full game with an added 11 minutes down a player, Orlando Pride secured the 2-3 victory away in the National Women’s Soccer League.

Following the match Banda, said Orlando pride had low start but with the coach leadership and determination they managed to win.

She was optimistic about the Future of the team as it had young players who were growing together to make it better.

“Orlando Pride has a bright future, good players and I think most of the players, we are young, so we are still growing up together and we hoping for the best for the team,” Banda said during a post match Interview.

Ambassador Kanayama took to his Facebook expressing his pride in Banda’s performance, highlighting her potential to pave the way for other Zambian footballers in the US.

He further commended Banda’s character, describing her as “an extremely pleasant young lady who needs our full support and encouragement.”

Kanyama’s presence and support, along with Zambia Kuchalo’s initiative to bring Zambians together to cheer on Banda, exemplifies the spirit of unity among the Zambian diaspora in the US.
