Kalaba walks out of UTH after two weeks

AS the sun beams with a clear sky signaling a blissful day, the nation has been given the heartwarming news of renowned Chipolopolo player Rainford Kalaba being discharged from the University Teaching Hospital.

After enduring two weeks of uncertainty and concern, fans of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations (AfCON) winner, Kalaba and the nation at large can finally breathe a collective sigh of relief.

Today at 10:30, Kalaba was discharged from UTH where he was admitted following a tragic road traffic accident on April 13, 2024 which tragically claimed the life of the driver.

UTH public relations officer Nzeba Chanda confirmed in a statement that the football legend will now have too recuperate at his family home.

“Mr. Rainford Kalaba has been discharged from the UTH-Adult where he was admitted after being involved in a road traffic accident two weeks ago.”

“Today marks exactly 14 days from the time of his admission,” revealed Chanda.

Two weeks ago Kalaba was rushed to the University Teaching Hospital for treatment where he continued to receive care.

The incident attracted a lot of sympathy notably from President Hakainde Hichilema who wished him well and his boss, TP Mazembe president Moise Katumbi who visited him on Tuesday.
