GOVERNMENT has disclosed that works at the burial site for former president Edgar Lungu will be completed by Friday.
According to Ministry of Infrastructure and Urban Development permanent secretary Albert Malama, the works at the site started on Sunday.
Professor Malama stated that the ministry is working with the Zambia Army who are providing labour while the Ministry of Infrastructure and Urban Development provides materials.
He said the workers on site have so far made significant improvements progress on the works.
“We have been given very strict instructions by the secretary to the Cabinet to make sure that everything is done in time for the burial,” said Prof Malama.
He added that the country should not worry about a thing as the former president is set to be given a dignified send off.
Lungu who died last Thursday at a South African health facility, will be buried next to his predecessor, late President, Micheal Sata at the Presidential Burial Site, Embassy Park.
