CATHOLIC priest Fr Chewe Mukosa has appealed to PF members who are mourning the late former president Edgar Lungu from the secretariat to accept the government’s designated place of mourning, Belvedere Lodge and let it play its role.
Fr Mukosa stated that it was high time the PF accepted the State’s position and allowed it to take over by making sure that the situation was managed in an amicable way.
“Two wrongs does not make a right. Let the State take over. Let the State play its role of burying and honouring our former Head of State. Let us all listen to the State at this moment, we all can’t be masters at one time,”
said Fr Mukosa.
“Let’s go to the designated place where government has put. I don’t think Edgar Lungu would want to have tension in the country. Let us stand for peace which Lungu really wanted, let us all follow what is required.”
He urged Zambians to be calm and do what is right, which is giving the former president a dignified send off.
“Even when there are conflicts among us, the first thing that we need to know, is bury the dead person for the sake of his respect…” said Fr Mukosa.
