CLIMATE Control Zambia has generously donated heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment valued at K250,000 to the University of Zambia (UNZA), specifically to the School of Engineering.

Speaking during the handover ceremony yesterday, Climate Control Zambia managing director, Ben Bwalya emphasised the significance of this equipment in alleviating challenges encountered by students within UNZA’s mechanical engineering laboratories.

Bwalya highlighted the importance of such collaborations in enabling the university to deliver high-quality education that benefits both industry stakeholders and the nation as a whole.

He emphasised the necessity for UNZA to possess cutting-edge equipment to effectively run its programmes.

“The students need to learn about the industry trends and innovations,” he remarked.

“If you can’t find what you are looking for, make it. That is the power of an engineer.”

Bwalya urged young engineers to stay abreast of industry trends and invent equipment conducive to the country’s progress, particularly amid ongoing challenges such as the current drought.

He also called upon UNZA alumni and other industry players to inspire students through various means.

UNZA acting vice chancellor, Borniface Namangala expressed gratitude to Climate Control Zambia for their timely donation amidst a national disaster.

Namangala emphasised the role of the industry in engineering education, urging other companies to emulate Climate Control Zambia’s philanthropic gesture.
