PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has emphasised the importance of analysing Africa’s challenges to find solutions.

Speaking at the African Land Forces Summit (ALFS) in Livingstone where he addressed the land component commanders from across African continent, Europe, America and South America, President Hichilema stressed the need for countries to share experiences.

The event was themed “regional solutions to transnational problems.”

“Some of our challenges stem from economic and social challenges and it is important to recognise the diversity of possible causes of challenges on our continent” President Hichilema said.

President Hichilema highlighted the importance of identifying the array of possible challenges as a means of solving them.

“We need to learn from each other, sharing experiences and avoiding reinventing occurrences similar to what happened elsewhere, helping us prepare to tackle it more effectively.” he said.

“Each community may have little differences but, [we] must focus on the whole package which is to internalise the importance of taking care of each other.”

President Hichilema, who is also chairperson of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defense and Security also urged the utilising of natural resources for economic growth and stability.

“The resource endowments on our continent and that will help us grow our economies quicker, accelerated economic growth and therefore social support.” he said.

He called for a stable continent that upholds enduring peace, security and stability to facilitate economic growth.
