According to police, the planned interview with Luo was related to the ongoing police investigation which is yet to be revealed.

However fingers are pointing to Luo’s remarks on Prime Tv that son of former president Edgar Lungu, Dalitso was summoned by the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC), despite his father’s passing.

Last week, Luo through her legal representatives, agreed to an interview with the Zambia Police regarding the matter under investigation and the highly anticipated meeting was originally scheduled for yesterday June 30, 2025, signaling a potential breakthrough in the ongoing probe.

However, the interview did not take place as Luo experienced a bereavement in her family.

According to police assistant public relations officer Godfrey Chilabi, due to the unfortunate loss suffered by Luo, police decided, in consultation with her legal representatives, to postpone the interview in order to allow her the time and space to cope with this difficult situation.

Chilabi confirmed that police did not require any proof of Luo’s bereavement or that she had a sick daughter, placing their trust in her account of the circumstances.

“A new date for the interview will be arranged in due course,” said Chilabi.
