A 33-YEAR-OLD married man, living up to the reputation of Lusaka, a city infamous for excessive adultery and fornication has been allowed to continue dating his type after his wife took him to court, lamenting how he once answered her video call with a woman by his side in bed.
It is reported that Hassan Simpungwe, a bricklayer by profession was working from the Copperbelt for some time but was later transfered to the capital city of Zambia where he changed faster than a chameleon and found his soulmate.
His wife Harriet Nambela explained that after his transfer, Hassan did not care to have his wife and son shift with him as he left them on the Copperbelt.
As days went by, the duo would video call each other from time to time in order to bridge the gap in their newly found long distance marriage, probably even singing to each other Long Distance by Brandy.
However, the lovey dovey video calls started minimising especially in the night that sometimes Hassan would ignore the calls from his wife.
Harriet told the court that she once received a call from a woman who questioned why she was calling “her man” at awkward hours.
The side chick then told Harriet that Hassan had denied the wife more than three times, surpassing Peter’s record.
“She called me saying, I just wanted to confirm if he has a wife or not because I have been asking him about it and he keeps denying ever having a wife, ” shared Harriet.
After the call, Harriet video called her husband as usual but she was this time around met with a disturbing sight of the husband with a woman by his side in bed.
When asked who the woman was, Hassan told the wife that “what you have seen is what is going on.”
From that time, it was clear that the bricklayer was indeed planting his pillar in the foundation of another woman.
Instead of laying bricks and blocks as per his occupation, Hassan was laying his reproductive block in between the legs of his girlfriend, ensuring that it fit perfectly in the her jar of honey.
When asked to give his side of the story, Hassan told the court that he changed because his wife never loved his family and she was a staunch customer of companies that deals in breweries.
“In the six years we have been married, I have never found peace. She drinks beer a lot and does not give me respect. Whenever my relatives visit, she gets upset. She also accuses me of sleeping with my own mother and sister simply because I send them money, ” he said.
“She’s also beats me that one day she hit me with a hot brazier, I almost died. She does not regard me as the head of the house and whenever I leave money for food, she misuses it on alcohol and leaves our child home alone.”
Hassan told the court that he was tired of his wife and was glad he was taken to court because he wanted to be liberated and probably marry the girlfriend, who is likely to have been gotten from the database of marriage.
Magistrate Lewis Mumba granted the couple a divorce, gave child custody to the woman and ordered Hassan to be paying a K1000 child maintenance per month.
“If he wants to see the child the marriage, allow him to do so.”
Magistrate Mumba also had a word for the woman.
“Divorce stems from alcohol. Marriage is for maure people and requires you to abide by the rules. Don’t marry if you are childish, don’t play with marriage, it’s sacred. You have lost your marriage because of alcohol, change. A woman who drivks alcohol cannot keep a marriage, ” he said.
As Hassan was leaving the court premises, he celebrated the way Leeds sparked huge celebrations last night after their league win against Manchester United, a team that was fasting and praying for Arsenal to lose while Leeds were preparing to serve them a cold dessert.
