THE Kalulushi Municipal Council has commissioned its new office block, that was constructed using locally generated funds.

The new office block consists of the Chamber, Mayor’s Parlour, Town Clerk’s office, conference rooms and office space.

Commissioning the project, Copperbelt Minister Elisha Matambo said the successful construction of the office block using locally generated resources is a clear demonstration of prudent financial management, strategic planning, and visionary leadership.

Matambo said that the achievement is in line with government’s vision, which always emphasises the importance of financial discipline, accountability efficient use of public resources and a strong commitment to delivering quality services to our people.

“Kalulushi Municipal Council has provided practical proof that when resources are managed responsibly and priorities are well aligned, development can be achieved without overdependence on external support,” he said.

Matambo said the new office block is also a symbol of progress, efficiency and respect for public service.

He said the block will greatly improve the working environment for members of staff.

“This is a plus because the block will also help in providing a dignified and conducive space for engaging with members of the public, stakeholders and community leaders,” Matambo said.

The Minister further appealed to all the local authorities across the Province to emulate the example set by Kalulushi Municipal Council.

Speaking at the event, Kalulushi Member of Parliament, Kampamba Mulenga, commended the local authority for the initiative.

Mulenga said the facility will enhance service delivery and provide a conducive environment for both council officials and the community.

“We are happy that the local authority thought outside the box and used locally generated funds on the project,” said Mulenga.
