COPPER Queens defender Lushomo Mweemba has signed a one-and-a-half-year deal with 16-time Kazakhstani Champions BIIK Kazygurt.
Mweemba heads to the Shymkent-based club where she will team up with countrymates defender Martha Tembo and midfielder Ireen Lungu.
She leaves Green Buffaloes and is expected to be roped in the BIIK squad that is preparing for the Kazakhstani Women’s Cup which kicks off on 1 May, 2024.
BIIK’s first match will be against Okzhetpes before entertaining Aktobe two days later. They will then play nemesis and former Catherine Musonda’s team Tomiris-Turan on 5 May before playing their final fixture against Ordabasy on 9 May.
BIIK has proved to be a pathway for many Copper Queens players with the likes of Racheal Kundananji, Grace Chanda, Prisca Chilufya, Misozi Zulu and Hellen Chanda all having featured for the 11-time Kazakhstani Cup champions.
