Send me WhatsApp messages on what I have done, I will mark, Hichilema tells journalists

PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has told journalists to do their own ‘audits,’ go back to the promises he made while in opposition and send him WhatsApp messages on what he has fulfilled so far so that he can mark them.

The President expressed confidence that the UPND administration had done a lot in the last three and 10 months in office and only a few things were left to be worked on.

“Media go and do your own kwenyunas, go back to what I was saying. Go and do your own audits, mark your own script. Many of you have my WhatsApp number, send me your marking sheets and I will send it to my auditor and I will kwenyuna there,” said the Head of State.

He added that if he wasn’t the Head of State or serving in government, he would have been praising the UPND administration because of what it has done for the country so far.

President Hichilema said Zambians needed to learn to appreciate where it’s due and in this case, the UPND had ‘kwenyunyad’ (Marked out) a lot and deserved commendation.

“Let’s be fair to each other, let’s look at what has been done and what was said. If a kid gets 7 or 8 out of 10, I think they have done well.”

“If I wasn’t the Head of State and wasn’t serving in this government, I would be praising this government because of what it’s been able to do. The kwenyus are so many. Kids used to sit on the floor. We said desks not imported made here kwenyu. A teacher was teaching 100 pupils, the rest we can forget,” he explained.

The President added that the remaining promises that may not have been fulfilled yet, required more time and effort.

The Head of State said this during a swearing in ceremony at State House yesterday.
