THE Zambia National Service (ZNS) Headquarters Garrison in Chamba Valley was filled with big smiles and dances as officers and their spouses took a break from their usual drills and duties to celebrate love, marriage, and family.

The special event, called “Meet and Greet Your Spouse,” themed “Together forever, building stronger marriages one day at a time,” wasn’t a usual military gathering of marching orders, but was all about love.
Speaking during the event, ZNS Commander Lt Gen Maliti Solochi, urged officers to never lose sight of their first and most important assignment which is family.

“While we serve our nation with discipline and honour, we must not forget that our families are the first institution we are called to serve,” he said.
The Commander, accompanied by his wife Angela, took time to recognise the sacrifices made by military spouses, describing them as the backbone of every strong officer.
“We must be intentional in nurturing our marriages, deliberate in expressing love, and faithful in creating time for our spouses,” he added.
The event was also attended by the Deputy ZNS Commander, Major General Reuben Mwewa and his wife, Edina Mwewa, along with senior officers and their partners, signaling the Service’s commitment to promoting healthy and resilient families within the force.
Adding to the message of unity, Chief of Religious and Moral Services (RAMS), Brigadier General Bossy Nkhoma, called on couples to cherish everyday acts of love and appreciation.
“Make commitment a daily decision. Say ‘thank you,’ even for the smallest things,” urged the brigadier general.
