POLICE in Ndola’s Twapia Compound have initiated a manhunt for a man who is believed to be on the run after he defiled two girls, aged 10 and 13, in an incident that occurred on June 6, 2025.
Copperbelt Police commissioner Pethius Siadenge confirmed the incident to #Kalemba.
According to police reports, the 10-year-old victim reported to her grandmother that she had been defiled and sustained injuries to her private parts.
She stated that she could identify the perpetrator.
The victim recounted that she was playing with cousins at her aunt’s house when a 13-year-old friend approached her, inviting her to follow.
As they walked, they encountered the suspect.
The 13-year-old reportedly told the suspect they were going to her mother’s place, but the suspect diverted them to his residence.
Once inside his one-room house, the suspect allegedly defiled the 10-year-old first, covering her mouth with a shirt and jeans to stifle her screams.
He then reportedly forced himself on the 13-year-old.
The 10-year-old victim managed to unlock the door and flee while the suspect was defiling her friend.
She initially did not disclose the incident, but her grandmother noticed her difficulty walking and her failure to go to school.
Upon questioning, the victim revealed what had transpired, and the matter was reported to the police, who subsequently issued a medical report.
No arrest has been made but police are on the tail of the suspect.
