The university, asserted its full accreditation by the Higher Education Authority (HEA) and adherence to Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) standards.

The denial comes after RDAZ president, Paul Chibwe, publicly accused some institutions of collecting fees from students without meeting the necessary criteria for offering quality medical education.

Chibwe stated that RDAZ intends to take Gideon Robert University, HEA, and HPCZ to court over these concerns as they compromise the health sector.

However, Gideon Robert University stated it has not received any formal legal notification or complaint from RDAZ or any other legal authority regarding the lawsuit.

“At no point has RDAZ engaged the University to raise any concerns, making the decision to go public without dialogue even more regrettable,” the University stated.

The learning institution further expressed concern that such serious allegations were disseminated via social media without prior engagement or formal communication.

The institution emphasized that its medical and health sciences programmes are designed to meet both national and international quality standards, and that it has consistently cooperated with all regulatory bodies.

“We categorically reject the suggestion that we offer substandard training,” the statement read.

The university also noted that RDAZ had not engaged them directly with any concerns prior to going public.

Furthermore, Gideon Robert University clarified that it has not yet graduated any medical doctors, contrary to what RDAZ may have implied.
