The fatality which occurred on June 20, 2025, marked the third deadly attack against the United Nations Stabilisation Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) patrols this year, underscoring the escalating dangers faced by peacekeepers in the volatile region.
The 34-year-old soldier, was returned to his homeland aboard a Ugandan Airways flight, his final journey completed not with fanfare, but with military honours and tear-soaked silence.
Soldiers lined the runway in perfect formation, saluting a man whose courage crossed borders, fighting for a peace that he would not live to see.
His family, bearing the burden of grief, watched as the uniformed pallbearers gave their final salute
Representing the army commander, colonel general staff Teddy Tembo led the solemn reception, his presence carrying the weight of a nation in mourning.
According to the Zambia Army, details regarding the burial of the late Corporal are expected to be announced by the military command in due course.
