THE Lusaka City Council (LCC) has allocated K700,000 to enhance street lighting along Freedom Way in the Central Business District (CBD).
Funded through the 2023 Constituency Development Fund (CDF), the project is aimed at improving security and aesthetics in the area.
Currently undergoing a tendering process to ensure transparency and select a competent contractor, the project is expected to begin this year.
Improved lighting is expected to deter criminal activity and create a safer environment for businesses and residents.
“This investment demonstrates our commitment to creating a more attractive and secure city,” stated LCC assistant public relations manager Nyambe Bulumba.
The LCC has committed to executing the project efficiently and to a high standard, meeting the needs of the community and fostering a vibrant business environment.
