ZAMBIAN gospel hip hop artiste Chakachadza Nyathando popular known as Pompi has emphasised the importance of integrity and hard work over quick gains associated with gambling
Drawing inspiration from Proverbs 13:11, Pompi posted on his Facebook page highlighting he detrimental effects of dishonest money, stressing the value of ethical conduct and disciplined effort in financial matters.
He underscored the responsibility of leaders to set a positive example for their communities, advocating for measures to protect individuals from falling prey to exploitative temptations.
Nyathando called on President Hakainde Hichilema to put up legislative action to safeguard citizens against the harms of gambling addiction.
“Your excellency Hakainde Hichilema may I submit that I believe that we must use law and policy to guard against our people succumbing to such exploitative temptations.”
“Whether in a casino or on a sports mobile app they lead to personal ruin. Gambling “addiction” is a serious issue that affects individuals regardless of their social status or wealth,” explained Pompi.
He emphasised the indiscriminate nature of this issue, affecting individuals across all societal strata, regardless of their social status or financial means.
The artiste’s message resonated deeply with many of his fans, who praised his courage in speaking out against a pervasive societal issue.
