According to insiders, two splinter groups have emerged from the alliance, one led by Brian Mundubile and the other by Given Lubinda.

One camp has Mundubile, Sean Tembo, Mumbi Phiri, Chanoda Ngwira, Mutotwe Kafwaya, Kelvin Bwalya Fube (KBF) and Chris Zumani Zimba.

The other group comprises Raphael Nakacinda, Given Lubinda, New Congress Party (NCP) president Peter Chanda, Cosmo Mumba among others.

Yesterday, the faction led by Mundubile was supposed to hold a council of leaders meeting which unfortunately didn’t take place as it was disrupted by the other camp.

According to Sean Tembo, the group of leaders at his residence were only there for a cup of tea as the meeting was scheduled to be held at a named lodge.

However, the other camp of the alliance, headed by Lubinda could not believe Tembo’s words and decided to cause confusion at the residence.

It is reported that as Tembo was preparing to have his meeting with his comrades, Lubinda was also chairing his own at the PF secretariat.

Peter Chanda who is Lubinda’s loyalist and some other cadres were forced to go and disrupt Tembo’s planned meeting, claiming that their chairman and mentor, late former president Edgar Lungu would have loved to see peace reign.

More drama is likely to unfold as the alliance intends to hold their failed meeting next Tuesday, this time around with Lubinda, Nakacinda and others that were not present yesterday.

The cadres complained that it was unfair for Tembo to call for a meeting which had no vice chairman Danny Pule or Given Lubinda.
