Poor sanitary conditions at PF headquarters worries Diffikoti

ONE of former president Edgar Lungu’s supporters, Thomas Sipalo has expressed concern over the improper sanitation lingering at the PF secretariat where some PF members are mourning the death of Lungu.

Sipalo who visited the place yesterday, stated that he was dismayed by the sanitation challenges at the venue.

He said there was need for senior PF leaders to lead their puppets in accepting government’s designated venue for the official state funeral.

“The limited toilet facilities are struggling to cope with the large number of mourners, creating unhygienic conditions that pose serious health risks,” he explained.

“To avoid potential health implications, I strongly believe that the funeral ceremony should be relocated to a more suitable venue, such as Belvedere Lodge, where sanitation and hygiene can be better managed as suggested by government.”

He added that the large number of parked cars were also causing inconvenience to nearby businesses in the CBD.

Sipalo further disclosed that some senior PF leaders have been sneaking out to access better sanitation facilities at their homes while leaving the majority of mourners in poor conditions.

“It’s concerning that while some leaders are telling mourners to remain at the PF secretariat in protest with limited sanitation facilities they easily sneak out to access better sanitation facilities at home, leaving the majority of mourners to endure the poor conditions,” he said.

“Alternatively, if the mourners aren’t comfortable with Belvedere Lodge, the ceremony could be moved to a bigger place with mobile toilets provided to cater to the large number of people.”

He urged relevant authorities and senior party leaders to put their ego aside and take immediate action to address the pressing issue by moving to Belvedere Lodge.
