PATRIOTIC Front (PF) faction secretary general, Raphael Nakacinda has rubbished claims by the other faction leader Robert Chabinga that he is still in charge of the former ruling party, describing him as a ‘misfit’ craving attention and political favour.

Appearing on Diamond TV’s Breakfast Show yesterday, Nakacinda, took off the gloves and tore into Chabinga, dismissing him as a political nobody who is attempting to sow confusion in a party that has now reunited under one banner.
He accused the Mafinga lawmaker of being a product of illegalities, adding that his actions are driven by selfish motives aimed at disturbing the peace now restored in the PF.
“Not every Jim and Jack should be given airtime. Someone from Chinama can wake up and say anything, and the media will run with it,” Nakacinda said.
He said the unification of the PF factions, including the reconciliation with former rival Miles Sampa, marked a new era of maturity in the opposition.
Nakacinda believed that the endorsement of former president Edgar Lungu as the 2026 presidential candidate had rattled political opportunists like Chabinga.
The PF faction SG maintained that there is only one PF and no faction led by Chabinga exists.
“There is no such thing as a Chabinga faction. Chabinga is ranting because he wants favours. That’s all,” Nakacinda said.
Chabinga, who is also serving as a PF Member of Parliament, recently claimed that he remains the legitimate leader of the PF, dismissing the reconciliation of the factions that “supposedly” expelled him as a “circus.”
