Let peace reign – Nalumango

VICE President Mutale Nalumango has urged Zambians to embrace peace as a fundamental principle that must begin within an individual before it can be spread to one’s home and then the nation at large.

Nalumango implored citizens to nurture peace, harmony and acceptance in their hearts and homes, which would naturally spread outwards to create a more peaceful and inclusive society across Zambia.

Speaking at the Army Ladies Association of Zambia (ALAZ) gala dinner last night, Nalumango highlighted the importance of self-love and acceptance as a necessity for loving others, emphasising that if one does not love themselves, it becomes difficult to love others.

“Love begins with you. When you understand and accept yourself for who you are, it becomes easier to extend that same understanding and acceptance to those around you. If we all start by cultivating love in our hearts for ourselves, that love will eventually radiate outwards, spreading kindness and compassion throughout the nation,” she explained.

“It is time for each one of us to look in the mirror and tell ourselves, ‘I love myself, and I will share that love with those around me.’”

The vice president also underscored the necessity of investing in the growth and development of every individual in Zambia, stating that this will be the driving force behind the country’s progress and prosperity.

She emphasised the importance of fostering an environment that supports the growth and potential of each citizen, asserting that national development can only be achieved when every person is given the opportunity to thrive and contribute to society.

Nalumango further urged citizens to foster an environment of care and support within their families, as this would serve as the cornerstone for building a healthier and more harmonious society in Zambia.

“When we prioritise our own health and happiness, we create a foundation of strength that allows us to extend that care to our communities and our nation.”
