Ignore political comedy, Simuuwe tells Zambians to focus on party with direction

UPND media director Mark Simuuwe has urged Zambians to rise above the noise of political theatrics and focus on development, pointing out that the governing party remains consistent and focused on real economic transformation.

Speaking during a press briefing today, Simuuwe said the country had no time for ‘jokes and political gymnastics’ when the UPND is delivering tangible results such as mega infrastructure projects and stabilising the economy.

He said while others are busy engaging in what he called “pan-to-pot political comedy”, the UPND is staying the course with a clear vision and a working manifesto that is bringing results on the ground.

“When they see a lot of jokes today, people are jumping in this pan, tomorrow they are in a pot and like that, they will not take them seriously,” Simuuwe said.

“We need to focus on a political party that provides direction, a formidable political organisation, an intact political organisation with structures and a clear message.”

Simuuwe pointed to the recently commissioned 100 megawatt Chisamba Solar Plant as an example of long-term planning and policy consistency under President Hakainde Hichilema

He said the project had not only created jobs but also strengthened Zambia’s energy security.

The UPND official added that recent economic indicators, such as reduced inflation, a stable Kwacha, and falling fuel prices were signs that the country is on a positive trajectory, thanks to exports, agriculture reform, and deliberate efforts to attract investment.

Simuuwe further urged citizens not to be distracted by attention-seeking politics but to instead demand facts, solutions, and credible leadership.
