In response to a story allegedly fabricated by Daily Nation Newspaper, Millennium TV and Zambian Monitor, Tambatamba expressed outrage over the false claim that she raised concerns over victimisation of women in Zambian politics.

The story, reportedly created by the three media outlets alleged that she had used the recent police summoning of Patriotic Front member of the central committee Nkandu Luo, who was mourning the loss of her child as an example of gender-based victimisation in politics.

In a statement, Tambatamba denied the allegations leveled against her, emphasising that the media outlets responsible for publishing false information had done a disservice to the public and violated journalistic ethics.

She stressed that such irresponsible behaviour threatened the integrity of journalism and could have serious legal consequences.

“I expect media personnel to uphold professional conduct in their reporting, I therefore demand a retraction and apology from all media houses that published or aired this false story,” demanded Tambatamba.
