The Lusaka Magistrates Court has since issued a bench warrant against the Pentecostal papa of House of Prayer Church in Lusaka’s Garden House area for failing to appear before court in a case he is accused of raping an 18 year old church member.

The court has also issued another warrant to four state witnesses for refusing to come and testify against their daddy.

In this matter, Peter Mulenga, 35, also a businessman, is facing two counts of rape contrary to the laws of Zambia.

When the matter came up yesterday before Resident Magistrate, Kawama Mwamfuli, the arresting officer, John Phiri of Kanyama Police informed the court that the Witness have not been cooperative, stating that the matter should be settled outside court.

Phiri said the suspect had visited them and refused to be separated from his Kamwala-ish colourful swag and hoarse voiced Nigerian accent, requesting the matter to be handled outside court.

He said considering the seriousness of the offence he denied their plea.

“The witnesses wants the matter to be sorted outside the court, but considering the seriousness of the matter, I denied saying if they want to do something should be done in court,” he said.

Phiri said the witnesses have decided not to cooperate with the police.

“A warrant can be raised so that the same can be brought to book,” Phiri submitted.

The court granted the application to issue a bench warrant against the four witnesses, and an accused person returnable on August 6, 2025.

It is alleged in count one that on March 3, 2025 in Lusaka, Mulenga had unlawful carnal knowledge of AM, without her consent.

Mulenga is also alleged to have had unlawful carnal knowledge of AM on March 4, 2025 without her consent.
