ZAMBIA is fast becoming a real-life remake of Prison Break with the latest episode being documented in the early hours of today at Mansa Central Police Station, where 19 suspects, including three accused murderers, performed a vanishing act.

This is against the backdrop of episodes on escapees since last year, including the 13 inmates who slipped through the hands of a drunken police officer on an alleged pass to go and enjoy New Year’s Eve and 41 other suspects fleeing from police custody in Nakonde.
This morning’s episode occurred at precisely the horny and witchcraft hours of 02 and 02:50 hours when husbands become all lovey dovey to their wives, even apologising for what they did with a Lilayi slay queen in 1992.
As Wizards flew on their invisible aeroplanes via ‘Air Mukwai’ a group of 19 suspects slipped through the hands of police men.
This has put Mansa into the latest hot spot in the country’s shocking new trend of mass jailbreaks unlike their well known business of bringing back lost lovers in 24 hours.
The suspects, locked up for various offences such as murder, robbery, drug trafficking and human trafficking, among other other felonies, are now being hunted like animals, leaving the sleepy police men red faced and scrambling for answers.
According to police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga, all was well during a routine check around 01:30 as the padlocks were intact, the suspects were in their cells and the night shift officers were presumably focused on anything but the suspects.
But an hour later, the padlocks were found lying on the floor like forgotten voters after a politician gets what they wanted and the cells were emptier than a new politician’s promises during by-election season.
“A physical count confirmed that the following suspects had escaped, Bwalya Promise, Mwansa Chilufya and Chola Mike, murder.
Patson Chibwe, aggravated robbery, Innocent Kunda and Kelly Kabengele and Vincent Munkombwe were charged with theft.
“Justine Katembo – Breaking into Building and Committing Felony Therein. Chola Steward – Theft by Servant. Mumba Sydney – Possession of Counterfeit Notes and Implements for Forgery. Chishala Andrew – Human Trafficking, Emmanuel Moonga – Theft of Motor Vehicle, Charles Kunda – Trafficking in Psychotropic Substances, Gift Chisha – Trafficking in Psychotropic Substances, Abel Chalwe – Trafficking in Psychotropic Substances, Kunda Samuel – Trafficking in Psychotropic Substances, Chibwe Harrison – Trafficking in Psychotropic Substances, Mumba Joshua – Trafficking in Psychotropic Substances and Mwila Straid – Trafficking in Psychotropic Substances,” said Hamoonga.
He added that the Mansa jail break is under intense investigation and a manhunt has been launched.
The Zambia Police Service appealed to the public to assist with information leading to the recapture of the suspects.
Citizens are advised not to approach these individuals but rather report any sightings at the nearest police station, preferably one that still has locks that work.
