Bang! Bang! Lyabo knocked on the door of his second wife Alice Chirwa, 47 before managing to break down the door falling flat together with the door as gravity welcomed him to the floor.

Chirwa, who was already in a cozy position with her new lover Richard Mpofu in their two roomed house was alarmed and went to check the chaos in the sitting room.

Without knowing if a witch had clash landed from ‘Air Mukwai’ into their house around 23:00 hours, then they noticed a man on top of their door. Lo and behold! It was Lyabo.

Mpofu reportedly confronted Lyabo, and a physical altercation ensued, as he dragged him outside the house.

Chirwa witnessed Mpofu pick up a plank from the broken door and strike Lyabo twice on the head, causing two deep cuts and switching the lights off permanently for Lyabo as he fled the scene.

According to authorities initial reports state that Lyabo left his home on June 20, 2025, around 10:00 hours, informing his wife, Atrice Mwanza, 46, that he was going to see his second wife,

After a brief return to his home with an axe and a hoe, he departed again around 16:00 hours for Chirwa’s residence, from which he did not return.

The following morning, Mwanza was informed by a neighbour, identified only as Lucia, that her husband had been hospitalised at Chimbofuma Clinic and was being transferred to Mpongwe Mission Hospital.

Mwanza proceeded to the clinic, where she found her husband in an unconscious state.

She accompanied him in the ambulance, where she encountered Chirwa.

Chirwa recounted that the altercation did not start from the house but at a tarven where they were downing Vinchenzo’s ‘Kodi one’

Lyabo, found her with her new partner, Mpofu, at Augustine’s Tavern.

An altercation ensued, with Lyabo reportedly using abusive language, which was halted by the tavern owner who then escorted Lyabo from the premises but the fight followed them home.

Chirwa stated that she returned to her farm around 17:25 hours, and Mpofu joined her.

The following morning, Chirwa informed neighbours, who assisted in transporting the deceased to Chimbofuma Clinic in Machiya.

He was subsequently referred to Mpongwe Mission Hospital before being transferred to Roan General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead after approximately one hour of arrival.

Copperbelt police commanding officer Pathius Siandenge said Alice Chirwa has been taken in by authorities to assist with investigations.

He however said Richard Mpofu remains at large.
