The incident occurred in Kitwe’s Mindolo area.
Copperbelt Police Commissioner Pathias Siandenge confirmed the death, stating that Kapambwe was pronounced dead upon arrival at Kitwe Teaching Hospital.
His body is currently awaiting a postmortem.
According to Siandenge, the fatal altercation took place around 19:00 hours after Kapambwe and his two uncles, Lewis and Michael Mwansa, returned home from drinking Chibuku beer at a local tavern.
According to reports, an existing animosity between Lewis and his nephew escalated into a heated argument over food.
The situation turned deadly when Michael briefly left the scene to use the toilet.
Upon his return, he discovered Kapambwe unconscious and bleeding profusely from a head injury and Lewis was nowhere to be seen.
However, he could not run that far as he was apprehended shortly and currently in police custody.
“The body [of the deceased] lying in the mortuary awaiting postmortem,” said Siandenge.
