“Daddy, may you rest… and find peace that you did not experience during the four past years. May you finally rest in peace,” she said while giving a vote of thanks during a requiem mass at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Hillbrow, Johannesburg South Africa yesterday.

Chiyeso took the opportunity to share her perspective on the chaotic nature of Lungu’s presidency.

Chiyeso shared that for the past four years, Lungu’s life was not peaceful for him, as he faced many challenges which he worked tirelessly to overcome.

With a heavy heart, Chiyeso offered a prayer for her father.

“It is our prayer that indeed a time shall be granted when we can put you to rest so you can be able to experience peace. I hope you rest in peace dad, for this is something that you did not have the privilege of experiencing in the last four years,” she said.

She further extended her heartfelt appreciation to the government of South Africa for their unwavering support and generosity during this emotional time.

“The government of South Africa, we thank you from the depths of our hearts for graciously hosting us and being with us throughout this ordeal. Your generosity and presence have been a beacon of hope and comfort for our family, and we are forever grateful for your kindness,” she said.
