THERE comes a time in life when the people whom society has labeled to be bad examples thrive and as a law abiding citizen you get to see the wicked live the life you would love to live.
This is what was going through the mind of our rapper Chef 187 before releasing the hit song Wala Wala.
Chef 187 (Kondwani Kaira) explained how he came up with this hit song released over eight years ago.
The artiste revealed that the Wala Wala song started as a mere thought on why it rains even on the wicked despite their evil ways.
In a recent chat with Mumba Yachi, Chef 187 disclosed that the song is also centered on how society teaches young people to be law abiding citizens promising them a bright future but in the end get the worst.
“Wala Wala is about how we are taught to be law abiding citizens when young like go to school, get a job, go to church, start up a family, take care of the family.”
“There comes a time when someone is a law abiding citizen, they have adhered to whatever rules society has set but you don’t get the life that you were promised in the end. Like when you go to school you get papers you [are told you] will get a good life but then wala wala you are still struggling after school,” explained the rapper.
He said this song was a moment of honesty with the supreme authority questioning why things usually happened that way.
“You get to have a moment of honesty where you sit down and start questioning God that I have been following the word but how come after all that effort I get nothing and yet you see the bad examples in society thriving at the end of it all. You [then] get discouraged to do the right thing,” he said.
This is what was going through the creative mind of the Numero Uno but that doesn’t mean we need to stop being good citizens or Christians.
it was just a thought that any of us would come across once in a while but the truth still remains that life definitely gets better, never lose hope and everyone surely has their day of judgement one way or the other.
