UNLIKE passing jokes and drinking beer together day in day out because of the cousinship they share, an association called the Lozi, Luvale, Lunda – Bantu Botatwe Cousinship has decided to go the charity way.

A group of these tribal cousins yesterday visited Matero First Level Hospital specifically the medical ward to donate food and other relevant accessories to patients.

Merry faces of the health personnel and patients lighted up the ward in which the donation was happening from.

According to the association secretary Mwangala Munukayumbwa, this online cousinship started way back in 2012 on Facebook via a group.

It later upgraded to WhatsApp where the group started making up such arrangements.

The cousins came up with an Initiative of showing love to the world by contributing a K10 each per month in readiness for such activities and other emergencies.

Munukayumbwa said this was not the first time the cousins were donating to a hospital.

“We we also help among ourselves at funerals and during hard times. Our cousinship is not relevant during funerals. This is also another way of showing how much we love each other as cousins by giving to those I’m need,” she revealed.

“We don’t only give food to those admitted but we help clean the ward too. As you can see we have brooms, tissues and soap. So your help can go a long way.”

She disclosed that apart from the tribal counsins anyone is welcome to contribute to the cause.

And Matero First Level acting senior nursing officer Anita Chanda stated that this warmed the hospital as the help will go a long way.

Chanda called on other tribes to emulate this cousinship in spreading love to the world.
