A 70-year-old man in Kafue district has died after an elephant attacked him while on his way to seek treatment at a clinic.
Godina Mataudi, was on Monday morning rushed before the sunrise to go to the clinic and seek medical help.
Inasmuch as he wanted to save himself from the pain of the sickness, he could not save himself from the looming danger that lurked while en route to the health facility.
He came across an elephant that attacked him on his way.
But with his age, Mataudi failed to run faster than the elephant, leading to his death.
His dead body was only discovered around 07:00 hours by people who were using the same route and later reported the incident to police.
Zambia Police deputy spokesperson, Danny Mwale explained that police officers visited the scene and picked the body which was taken to Mutedere Mission Hospital Mortuary as his relatives await for his burrial.
