Masebo emphasized citizen cooperation, stating, “The primary objective of this survey is to furnish us with reliable estimates of demographic and health indicators.”

She stressed the importance of providing accurate information to data collectors, aiming to bring cost-effective and quality healthcare services closer to families.

Masebo highlighted the survey’s broad scope, covering fertility, marriage, family planning, nutrition, maternal and child health, and domestic violence.

“These results are instrumental in monitoring our progress towards achieving the sustainable development goals,” she stated.

Zambia Statistics Agency (ZAMSTATS) Statistician General Mulenga Musepa announced the deployment of 22 teams across all districts.

“Data collection will be done in seven local languages to ensure that language barriers between the data collectors and citizens are avoided,” Musepa said.

The survey, a critical source of health information, plays a fundamental role in informing policy decisions and tracking progress towards national development plans.
