AS a way to empower graduates at the Mukwela Youth Resource Center in Kalomo, Southern Province, Government has provided some start up machinery to help them kickstart their careers.
Among the machinery provided included, sewing machines, toolboxes, shovels plus other equipment for building and electrical repairs among many pieces of equipment given out under the graduate empowerment programme.
Youth, Sports and Arts minister Elvis Nkandu disclosed on his Facebook page that over 500 Youths successfully obtained certificates in Food Production, Metal Fabrication, Power Electrical, Design Cutting, Tailoring, Information Communication Technology, Agriculture, and General Hospitality.
Nkandu said yesterday during the fourth graduation ceremony for the Centre that Government has been consistently providing some start-up machinery and tools to empower the young graduates.
“The business and technical skills imparted to our young people are an acquisition that will go a long way,” Nkandu added.
