POLICE are calling on the public who could be missing a female relative and baby to go to Chongwe District Hospital after picking up two bodies last week.

The two were murdered and dumped in mphango area of Chief Bundabunda’s Chiefdom in Chongwe District.

Police Spokesperson Esther Mwaata Katongo confirmed the horrific development to #Kalemba in a statement saying the two have not been identified.

“Police in Chongwe picked two bodies of a woman and a baby which have not yet been identified and are therefore calling on members of the public to help identify the deceased persons,” Katongo said.

Katongo described the woman as being “aged between 20 and 30 years of medium height, a bit light in complexion, with natural hair and also a body of a baby aged between four and seven months.”

“It is suspected that the deceased persons could have been murdered from elsewhere and dumped in Mphango area. The body of a woman was found with head injuries along Great East Road and the matter was reported as hit and run road traffic accident but investigations have revealed otherwise while the body of the baby was found with a deep cut on the left side of the head with a knife near the scene and was found about two kilometers from where the other body was found,” Katongo revealed.

She said the two deceased persons could be related and that police had instituted investigations into the matter.
