FOUR men, including a father, have testified against three married Lusaka women, accusing them of turning their matrimonial homes into guest houses and aspiring to be the top three prostitutes in Garden Site 3 Compound, despite being married.

“They say they want to be the top three call girls in Garden Site 3 Compound,” said 79-year-old Banda Phiri, who testified against his daughter, Jane Chirwa, 49, a member of the United Church of Zambia (UCZ).

This case stems from Chirwa, who works as a maid in Rhodes Park, suing her best friend’s husband, Joseph Tembo, 51, for defamation of character, claiming that he damaged her reputation by calling her a prostitute.

Tembo, however, denied the defamation claim but confirmed calling her a prostitute, recounting an incident in Lusaka’s Olympia Compound where Chirwa was allegedly caught engaging in prostitution.

The households of Tembo and Chirwa are separated by a fallen fence, and according to testimony, Chirwa, Tembo’s wife Jane Moyo, and a third unnamed woman formed a trio allegedly aiming to seduce men in the area regardless of age, boasting about their exploits.

In a shocking turn, Chirwa’s own biological son testified against her, stating that his mother had once been caught in a compromising situation with an elderly man she was tasked to care for.

“She started making his organs stand still and hard,” the son said.

Chirwa’s husband, Raydon Tembo, confirmed his wife’s promiscuity, adding that she had become a “professional bed breaker and homewrecker” despite having 10 grandchildren.

Chirwa’s best friend, Jane Moyo, also testified, confirming the trio’s involvement in extramarital affairs.

“Yes, it is true, we played the three of us,” Moyo said, admitting to her own affair during a rocky period in her marriage.

Before Chirwa could fully defend herself, her father, visibly angry, registered himself as a witness against her.

“My daughter and her friends are prostitutes,” he said, recounting how they would bring men to his house and even tried to bribe him to allow their activities.

Magistrate Lewis Mumba, presiding over the case, expressed shock at the women’s behaviour, noting that their actions were inappropriate for their age.

“These women are shameless and their characters are unjustifiable for their ages,” the magistrate remarked.

He dismissed the defamation case, ruling that it lacked merit, but advised the women to reconsider their lifestyle choices.
