LIQUID Intelligent Technologies Zambia has appointed a seasoned female Zambian corporate leader as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The company, which operates under Cassava Technologies, announced that Leah Nakazwe will officially assume office on April 1, 2026.
Her appointment comes at a time when the demand for faster internet, reliable connectivity, cloud services and digital transformation solutions continues to grow among businesses, institutions and households in Zambia.
Liquid Technologies said the move reflects its broader strategy of strengthening leadership in the local market while positioning the company for its next chapter of innovation and expansion.
Nakazwe brings to the role more than two decades of executive experience, having built a career across the banking, telecommunications and media industries.
Her entry into the top job is expected to inject fresh energy into the company’s ambitions as Zambia continues to push towards a more digitised economy.
Cassava Technologies’ chief executive officer for Sub-Saharan Africa Wellington Makamure said Nakazwe’s appointment comes at a critical stage for the business.
“Leah’s leadership is pivotal at this stage for our Zambia business and the broader region. Her proven ability to deliver results will drive Liquid Zambia’s next phase of growth,” said Makamure.

A year later, she moved to MultiChoice Zambia where she continued to rise through the ranks.
She first served as GOtv Commercial General Manager, before being elevated to Chief Customer Officer and later Managing Director.
Speaking on her new role, Nakazwe said she was eager to join a company she has watched grow over the years and believes has even greater potential ahead.
“I am very excited about joining the Liquid team. I have watched from the terraces as the business has evolved over the years, and I believe that, together with my team, we can take it to the next level,” she said.
She said her grounding in sales, marketing and customer service has helped her build a leadership style rooted in understanding people, solving problems and responding to customer needs.”
“Having started my career in sales, marketing, and customer service has helped me understand what customers want and how to treat them,” she said.
Nakazwe added that working with people from different backgrounds and cultures over the years has strengthened her ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across diverse business settings.
“Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with people from different backgrounds and cultures, which has enabled me to collaborate seamlessly across diverse business environments. This experience also helped me grow into an effective communicator, whether with customers, clients, or co-workers,” she said.
Nakazwe holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Development Studies from the University of Zambia and a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Wales.
She currently serves on several boards, including as Board Chairperson of the Mulungushi International Conference Centre and is also affiliated with the Institute of Directors and Business Professional Women International.
