RETIRED but active musician Mulaza Kaira known as Mark 2 says it’s high time musicians were recognised as professionals stating that artistes put in a lot of work.

Speaking at James Kavimba (Jemax)’s press briefing yesterday, Mark 2 stated that the music industry contributes a lot to the country’s gross domestic product (GDP).

“Music is a major contributor to the country’s GDP, I pay taxes,” revealed Mark 2.

He said the world is evolving which calls for artistes to loosen up a bit and follow the route of the famous content creation, advising Jemax to make as many Tik Tok videos as ever.

“I have always tried to remain a student of the game, I think the industry is forever changing so you should forever keep learning,” the rapper said.

“You have to loosen up and be on Tik Tok,” he stated.

When asked about Jemax’s music, Mark 2 reiterated that Jemax has the courage to spit bars that others are scared to drop.

“I have seen him (Jemax) grow from an upcoming artist to being a force to be reckoned with in the industry, he’s very commercial street or hardcore,” said Macky 2
