Chipolopolo promises to bounce back against Angola following DRC CHAN loss

ZAMBIA National Football team CHAN squad, led by captain Kabaso Chongo, is gearing up to put their campaign back on track when they face Angola today at the Nyayo National Stadium.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday’s game at the Nyayo National Stadium, Chongo underscored the importance of moving forward and focusing on securing a win to keep their tournament hopes alive.

“That game is water under the bridge; we are just looking forward to the next game. We want to perform well and reach the knockout stage,” Chongo said.

Zambia faces an Angola team today, also desperate for points after losing and drawing in their first two matches.

The Palancas Negras will rely on key players Jó Paciência and Aguinaldo Matias to threaten the Chipolopolo defence.

Coach Avram Grant and his technical team have been working hard to prepare the players for what promises to be a tough encounter.

Meanwhile, Zambia will equally rely on the attacking talents of Kelvin Kampamba, Evans Kayombo, Wilson Chisala, and Benedict Chepeshi to break down Angola’s defence.

In the group standings, Kenya leads with four points, followed by Morocco and DR Congo, while Angola and Zambia are fighting to climb from the bottom.

Kickoff is set for 17:00 hours CAT today.
