TAPSON Kaseba, the former Chipolopolo striker who scored the winning goal in the 2019 COSAFA Cup final, has died at the age of 29 after a short illness.
Following Kaseba’s death the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts, joined the rest of the nation in mourning the loss.
Minister of Youth, Sport and Arts Elvis Nkandu expressed deep sadness, extending his condolences to Kaseba’s family, former teammates, and the entire football community.
According to a statement by the ministry’s principal public relations officer Nchimunya Ng’andu, Kaseba was a well-known figure in Zambian football, having played for several top clubs, including Konkola Blades, Green Eagles, Buildcon, and NAPSA Stars.
Kaseba was celebrated for his significant contributions at both the club and national levels.
His most memorable moment came in 2019 when he netted the decisive goal against Botswana, securing Zambia’s victory in the COSAFA Cup and making him a national hero.
