We will give Zambians concrete solutions, not slogans – M’membe

PEOPLE’S Pact presidential candidate Fred M’membe has pledged that his alliance will present Zambians with clear, practical solutions to national problems instead of empty political slogans.

In his New Year’s message, Dr M’membe said Zambians are tired of ‘chipantepante’ politics and want leaders who explain exactly what they will do, how they will do it and when results should be expected.

Dr M’membe said the People’s Pact will put forward detailed policy programmes covering energy, mining, healthcare, agriculture and industrial development, complete with timelines and costs.

“The time for slogans is over. Our people do not need rhetoric while their stomachs remain empty. They need concrete solutions with accountability,” Dr M’membe said.

Speaking of energy, the People’s Pact shared that they have a clear plan to end load shedding through diversified power generation and serious investment in transmission infrastructure.

“We will tell the people how we will end load shedding, by when and at what cost,” he said.

Futhermore, Dr M’membe said in the mining sector, the alliance will push for fair taxation and value addition so that Zambia’s copper creates jobs locally instead of benefiting foreign economies.

He added that in terms of healthcare, it will be treated as a right and not a privilege.

“No Zambian should be denied treatment because they are poor. We will train, retain and employ all health workers,” he said.

On agriculture, Dr M’membe said the focus will be on supporting small-scale farmers and developing agro-processing to strengthen food security and create jobs.

He added that industrial development under the People’s Pact will prioritise protecting Zambian-owned businesses and creating decent employment opportunities for young people.

“These are not slogans. These are commitments we will place before the people in detail. Judge us by them,” he said.

Dr M’membe challenged other political leaders to be honest with citizens by clearly explaining their plans.

He urged Zambians to reject personality-driven politics and instead demand substance and programmes from those seeking office.

“You are not voting for a person. You are voting for a programme and a future,” Dr. M’membe said.
