CHIEF Government spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa says those who do not like President Hakainde Hichilema must come to terms with the fact that he will remain in office until 2031.
Addressing the nation in Choma yesterday, Mweetwa said that after 2031, another candidate of equal measure and competence to President Hichilema would have to take over the leadership.
“If you do not like the President, go and campaign for your preferred candidate instead,” said Mweetwa.
He explained that critics must understand that, at present, the only person with legal immunity in the country is President Hichilema.
The minister also stated that the Head of State had dedicated this year to peace, love and unity, emphasising that no Zambian should be left behind.
“We must speak unity because we are likely to achieve more than when we are divided. National development cannot take off without peace in a nation,” stated Mweetwa.
“At this point, there is only one person who has legal immunity snd thats the president. We are equal before the law. The law reigns supreme.”
