Speaking after he accompanied defence minister Ambrose Lufuma and home affairs minister Jack Mwiimbu along with Southern province minister Credo Nanjua in touring the newly-constructed palace,
Kantenga described the act as a mark of President Hakainde Hichilema’s visionary leadership and respect for the country’s cultural heritage.

The aspirant made these remarks after the commissioning ceremony of Chief Moonze’s newly built palace in Monze District.

He noted that government’s ambition to construct over 100 chief’s palaces nationwide was not just a promise, but a demonstration of an action oriented leadership under President Hichilema.

Kantenga praised the move as a people centred governance and a step towards strengthening the bond between the government and traditional authorities.

He also expressed delight at the large number of youths who turned up for this year’s Lwiindi Gonde Traditional Ceremony, describing their involvement in cultural festivities as encouraging and vital for nation building.

He further urged young people to embrace tradition as a source of pride and direction, adding that cultural engagement can be a powerful tool to deter youth from destructive behaviours such as alcohol abuse.
