MAKESHIFT PF secretary general Raphael Nakacinda has confirmed that there is tribalism in the former ruling party as some individuals want to ascend to the presidency by using their tribe.
In a video posted on a PF page, Nakacinda warned that those who wanted to use tribe as their gateway to the party presidency shall not be tolerated.
He revealed that he was also aware of some tactics being used by some alliance leaders within the Tonse Alliance that want to trap the PF into tribalism.
“Those who want to introduce tribalism in PF, they will not be allowed. Because even in PF, there are people who want to start suggesting that their qualification to ascend to leadership is because of their tribe. That is an insult.”
“Come and tell us about the good you want to deliver, don’t tell us about your tribe. Not in Zambia, not in PF. If there is anyone selling themselves because of a certain tribe, tell them I said no.”
Nakacinda’s remarks come a few days after PF cadre Ibrahim Mwamba lamented to Kalemba in an interview that there was confusion, anarchy and tribalism in the former ruling party.
Mwamba shared that some senior PF leaders didn’t want Nakacinda and his colleague Given Lubinda to lead the party because of their tribes.
