A MONZE resident has urged young people in the constituency to rally behind youthful politician and rancher Victor Cheelo, saying he represents the hope of tackling the challenges that have kept many Monze youths on the sidelines of development.

Speaking in Monze, Biggie Chiiya said Cheelo’s attachment to the community placed him in a unique position to address youth unemployment and create opportunities for locals.

Chiiya pointed out that Cheelo, a 31-year-old economist, cattle rancher and PhD candidate, has already demonstrated commitment to uplifting young people by investing in agriculture, supporting youth sports and contributing directly to community welfare.

“It is time for the youths of Monze to get united and vote for Victor Cheelo, because he is the one who will remember us,” Chiiya said.

Cheelo has been active in supporting youth through sports, donations such as a community vehicle and promoting agro-industrial development as part of his vision to turn Monze into a beef-processing and farming hub.

His vision is to turn Monze into an agro-industrial hub that would unlock jobs for thousands of young people through beef processing, value addition and small-scale businesses.

A young rancher has already declared his intention to run for Parliament in 2026 under the ruling UPND ticket and positioned himself to succeed Jack Mwiimbu’s 25 years unbroken record as Monze Central Constituency lawmaker.
