He condemned the rumors, labeling them as ‘false and damaging’ and asserted his disinterest in reigniting his political career.

Chipimo, who previously led NAREP, stepped away from politics in September 2019, focusing instead on his legal and human rights work.

Reports circulating on social media claimed that Chipimo, was preparing to re-enter politics due to Zambia’s urgent need for fresh leadership and a renewed vision.

The rumors, which rapidly gained momentum across various social media platforms, suggested that Chipimo felt the pressing need to rejoin the political scene to address the country’s social and economic challenges with new perspectives and innovative solutions.

In response to the speculations, Chipimo emphasised that his focus remains unwavering on the promotion of private sector excellence and the expansion of economic opportunities for underserved communities.

He reaffirmed his decision to prioritise his private sector work and initiatives aimed at promoting economic equity and access to generational wealth, particularly among underserved communities.

The former NAREP leader stressed his focus on addressing the root of the misinformation and holding accountable those responsible for propagating the misinformation.

Chipimo lamented the fact that these statements began circulating on the very day he and his colleagues at Corpus Legal Practitioners were celebrating their 30th anniversary.

“It is unclear at this stage who originated the statement, though I have my suspicions about the possible motives behind it. For those familiar with my work since exiting active politics six years ago, it is evident that my focus has been to leverage my skills and expertise in the private sector, with a particular emphasis on raising the level of excellence in entrepreneurial endeavors,” Chipimo stated.

“I am resolute in my dedication to the work I began upon leaving politics, which centers around uplifting underserved communities and increasing economic ownership and access to generational wealth for all Zambians.”
