BILLY Sichamba, the ever-resolute PF Central Province chairman says he declined an appointment handed to him by PF presidential candidate Brian Mundubile as his Central Province campaign manager.
The appointment, which had been making rounds in whispers and WhatsApp forwards, reportedly came without any prior consultation or even a heads-up to Sichamba, who promptly moved to squash the rumours going round that he accepted the appointment.
Sichamba revealed that Mundubile’s camp had been expecting him to quietly endorse their man and rally support in the province ahead of the indefinite party convention.
True to his reputation as a stickler for party discipline, he turned down the offer, citing that the Central Committee had resolved not to endorse any candidate until the lawful processes were complete.
“I remain guided by party structures, resolutions and collective decision-making,” Sichamba said.
For now, Sichamba remains firmly in the party’s corner, pledging loyalty to whichever candidate emerges as PF president through lawful and democratic means.
