GOVERNANCE and Development Advocates Zambia (GODAZA) says President Hakainde Hichilema has fulfilled most of his campaign promises and shown commitment to delivering the few remaining ones.
Addressing journalists at a press briefing in Lusaka, GODAZA Executive Director, Elias Mulenga hailed President Hichilema for what he described as real and visible progress in turning around Zambia’s economic fortunes.
Mulenga cited the economic reforms and recent reductions in fuel pump prices as strong indicators of President Hichilema’s resolve to improve the lives of ordinary citizens.
He said the Hichilema-led administration had stabilised the Kwacha and reduced fuel prices, showing genuine leadership and commitment to economic recovery.
“President Hichilema has shown genuine leadership and delivery on key promises. We are confident that he will continue to work towards a brighter future for all Zambians,” said Mulenga.
The advocates further called on various stakeholders to complement government efforts.
Mulenga urged millers and the business community to adjust mealie meal prices in line with improved economic conditions and appealed to transport operators to review their fare structures.
He also challenged the media to shift focus toward highlighting positive developments in the economy, in order to inspire public confidence and unity.
GODAZA also stressed the need for national unity, encouraging citizens to embrace the country’s motto of One Zambia, One Nation, as a guiding principle in supporting development efforts.
