PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has expressed concern over some of the campaign repetitively used by the opposition which he described as rooted in hate speech, falsehoods and mockery of citizens who deserve serious and issue based politics.

According to statement issued by State House Communication specialist Clayson Hamasaka, President Hichilema stated that it was high time the country rejected divisive messages from leaders.
The Head of State added that politicians needed to embrace the spirit of unity and peaceful coexistence as the country’s democracy is strengthened when citizens come together in harmony.
“As a country, we must reject divisive messages designed to stir up emotions, and instead focus on ideas and policies that can truly improve our lives,” said President Hichilema.
The President said this in response to the recent concluded by elections which were conducted in various parts of the country.
He also commended the manner in which the elections were held, describing the atmosphere as peaceful.
President Hichilema further applauded the competing political parties, law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders who contributed to the calm and orderly environment during the by elections.
He encouraged the citizenry to maintain peace and maturity in areas where campaigns were ongoing.
President Hichilema also noted the landslide victories in favour of UPND which he said reflected the country’s growing confidence in his administration’s commitment to improving lives.
